My newly installed hardwired Kidde smoke detectors beep. Any suggestions beyond the battery?
I reset the breaker after instal, the units have new batteries, green leds are lit and units have power (tested them), the red leds flash every ~ 40 sec. They are installed on existing hard wire, the previous detectors did not beep, the new 9V batteries have 9V when tested. I have pressed multiple combos of test and hush. Unit is a Kidde model 1276. An older model 1276 hooked into the system also beeps.
