I suppose Mario Brothers could be bad, I don't know though because the closest to cartoon like characters that I've watched for a long time, since I've outgrown cartoons is some cartoon like/muppet type films that are considered cult films, because they're consider eclectic stories somewhat.
I do remember one time watching a rerun of "Bonanza" when I was flipping through channels & I was like wait a minute that looks like a younger Dennis Hopper & it was! So I left it on that channel & watched it. He played a cowboy in it, maybe a kid who'd gotten himself in trouble with the wrong crowd if I remember right. It's been quite a while since I saw that though so I don't remember the whole storyline in that episode though.
As for if he could do no wrong, every actor has done something that was crappy to watch & this should answer that question--
What I would consider from what films I've seen starring or at least with Dennis Hopper in the movie, is without doubt this one called "Sunset Heat" which was also released under the title "Midnight Hero(Midnight Heat)"--

The bad review the give of it at the bottom of the link I gave for it, doesn't do it any justice in terms of criticism because it was very very dissapointing. It also had Adam Ant, Michael Pare, Little Richard, Tracy Tweed & others & it was not worth my watching one second of it. I never bought or rented it thank goodness, I had it set to tape from satellite tv, while I was at work & it was a waste of taping even. It was an action flic & it had horribly bad acting in it. I like a lot of films Dennis Hopper's been in too, but this was not worth wasting any time on, it was horribly bad. You'd think a movie that had Dennis Hopper, Adam Ant & Little Richard in it would be cool or funny right? Oh no that's what I thought & it was horribly bad. It made me think what was Dennis, Adam & Little Richard thinking in making something that horribly bad? They should have fired their agents & stuffed the script for it where the sun doesn't shine of the director/producer & writer of such a badly written script. Well I guess I can't blame the director, the director should have also told the producer & the writer where they could've stuck that script. I like Dennis Hopper's movies & Adam Ant's movies too, although I guess Little Richard has better music than acting ability anyway. What can I say? If you dare to rent it for money, you'd want to take it back & demand your money back for that movie wasting your time & torturing your movie viewing sensiblities. No insult to Dennis cause I like the roles he's played, in fact I think he was even considered to play a role in a scifi flic of David Lynch's called "Dune" once.
Edit--looks like I got some posers who decided to give me thumbs down, I got a good guess who did that too. Oh well, losers can't handle being called out for the spoiled brats loser posers that they are anyway. Anyway I gave a thumbs up to Wire & String. I'd be willing to bet one of the people who gave me thumbs down, was someone who answered this question earlier & took off out of petty spite. Another one, well another one was a guy who had to do things that trolls do, a guy who has to those pathetic things to be with a woman, how pathetically sad can that be? That's why that person has a motto that says "for him to win others must fail". See what harrassment those losers have thrown at me Migh? Well the real world is different as that person knows I'm not the type to be pushed around now. I'm sure one or both of those people were the troll(s) that's been harrassing me all this time too.
