What Is Wrong With My Carburetor?
I have a 1985 Nissan Sentra, with a factory carburetor. The engine runs fine, until you give it "hard" gas. Pushing lightly on the gas pedal creates no problems. Pushing hard on the gas pedal causes the car to choke-out.
It is a 2-barrel carburetor, and it seems that the secondary barrel isn't operating. The secondary system diaphragm opens the secondary barrel. When I manually "use" the secondary system diaphragm the cars runs fine.
What vacuum lines or motors operate the secondary system diaphragm. I called a parts dealer, and they told me the venturi on the 2nd barrel is the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-You.
You might want to try a carb rebuild kit.
