Toslink decoder surround sound help?
Hi, I own logitec x540 speakers and a asus xonar u1 sound card. i am trying to get 5:1 surround sound using dolby digital live. the sound card came with a s/pdif to toslink adapter. I want to know what is the next step I should take to change from the toslink output to the required 3 analog outputs for surround sound.
There is No such thing.
You should get a sound card that outputs directly the 6 channels (front, rear and sub). If it only gives you s/pdif out, you need a receiver or a set of speakers with s/pdif input.
