Personalize Your Things Through Hydrographic Printing
We all love to add a touch of personality to items that we own. From mugs to plates to clocks and practically anything, we often have this penchant for making them look like no other. There are several ways to make items more personalized and by far, one of the easiest ways of achieving this is through hydrographic printing or what many of us might know as water transfer printing. This process of transfer printing has been around for several years already but it has only been recently that it has been given much attention. A couple of reasons for this could be that this process of transferring text and graphics on things is quite easy and does not require so much effort.
It is quite possible for you to do hydrographic printing right in your own home. You simply need to have water release decals, a pair of scissors, a small dish of water, paper towels, cotton swabs, setting solution, and clear gloss. The first thing you will need to do is to cut out the text or graphic from the decal paper if you have printed it at home. You will then need to soak the water release decal into a dish of water for no longer than 10 seconds.
Next, you will need to remove the decal from the water and place it face up on a paper towel. In about a minute, you will notice that the text or graphic is already starting to slide around on the decal paper. The next step in the hydrographic printing process is for you to dampen the edges with a cotton swab and you can already start lifting the decal from its backing. You can now place the decal on whatever item that you want to personalize.
You can use a cotton swab to place the decal on the object. You can also use a paper towel to dab the decal gently in an attempt to soak up any excess water. To help reduce the appearance of obvious edges, you can try using a setting solution. Once the decal has dried out completely, you can cover it with clear gloss to make it last longer.
It is always possible for you to do hydrographic printing at home. You simply need to have the right kinds of materials and you can already start personalizing items through this kind of process.

I would like to make my own decals?
I remember years ago helping my son put decals on a model car he had made. Is there a way that you can make your own decals.(the kind you soak in water and then slide off the wet paper onto an item). Is there a place you can buy this type of paper so you can print it out on your own printer?
