Hi all i want to construct a 12-gon with side=1 cm, how can i do that using a ruler and a compass on;y ?
(1) draw a circle
(2) same radius, pick a point on the circle and draw another circle.
(3) At each crossover point, draw another circle, you will eventually have one circle surrounded by six circles, the cross points form a hexagon.
(4) look for the large petals from the center of it all to the farthest join between two outer circles. Draw straight lines through all six of these
(5) Those lines will intersect the center circle halfway between the hexagon vertices.
Voila! The vertices of a dodecagon.
