Is it an O2 harness and where can I find it? Please help!?
My check engine light is on and the codes read for a short or an O2 sensor that is bad. I replaced the O2 like three times. I think the wiring that the O2 sensor plugs into is fried. My hubby didn't clip the wire back when he changed the sensor the first time and the wire laid against one of the metal pieces that caused the wire sheathes to melt and the wires to fuse together. He has since separated the wires and wrapped them with electrical tape, but I still have a problem with power, fuel mileage, and "stuttering" (especially on starting the car). I have a 1999 Mercury Mystique 4 CYL, 2.0 L. This is the O2 sensor wiring at the bottom of the car (near the bottom of the fan). Please help me figure out the term for this wiring and/or where I can get it. Thanks!

NO
and i don't think its the O2 sensor or the wiring.(that is fixed now)
a dirty air filter and/or dirty fuel filter or a worn timing belt is the only thing i can think of that will make the check engine light come on and cause a "problem with power, fuel mileage, and "stuttering" " in an otherwise healthy engine.
all 3 will give false codes as a bad O2 sensor.
the timing belt may also set off a false code as cam sensor.
P.S.
there are no specific codes for these parts , it takes an experienced mechanic who can "read between the lines"
