Model trains have caught the attention of hobbyists across the world. These trains are a great medium to spend time and explore artistic talent. There are four popular scales of toy model trains in the market as present. These include G, N, O and HO. The G comes with a ratio of 1:22 while the O has a ratio of 1:48. These two are grouped into a larger scale trains type. Both these trains run on the No. 1 track. Meanwhile, the HO that has a ratio of about 1:87 is around half the size smaller in comparison to the O train. HO refers to half of an O. The N scale comes with a ratio of 1:160. It is half a size smaller than the HO train. All these scales have practical purposes and benefits. Some of the lesser known ones in the market include the S, the Z and the TT scale.

Toy model train enthusiasts position and run their model trains in the backdrop of various landscape layouts. These landscape layouts can be created and designed as per the liking of the hobbyist. Many hobbyists prefer to add trees, mountains, rock formations, field valleys hills or meadows. They can create a dramatic effect by including water bodies such as lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, or waterfalls. For this, they are required to figure out where should they place their tracks and the landscape to make the scenery creative and interesting. The track can be laid in the basic oval shape, a dog bone shape or in the common figure eight shape. By lying the track in a wide curve you can make sure that that the train does not overturn.

just staring model trains and im on a budget looking for cheap ground cover and scenery ideas any would be appreciated
Its not a very good idea, especially if you have a cat. Guess where the cat will "GO"? There are other undesirable qualities about kitty litter you don't want as well.
