difference between Short-scale guitars?
I have short scale guitar

If I want to play a song origionally played on a normal acoustic guitar, can I play it as it is on a short scale? If not, how do I improvise? Is having a short scale guitar the same as playing a normal with a capo? Thank you!
Short scale means that the fretboard is smaller ie, shorter than standard. As long as you are tuned to standard it should play like a standard guitar. Some short scale guitars are designed to be tuned differently than standard, but these are usually specialized folk instruments.
Standard scale on guitars is set at 25.6in or 650mm. The scale length on your guitar, is 23 1/4in so it's not that much smaller that standard. As long as it is tuned to EADGBe it will play like a standard guitar. It would only play like with a capo if you tuned the strings higher, or lower several steps, You should be able to standard tune on that guitar, just fine, and even use a capo if you want too.
