What can I do to make my car audio work?
I bought a 98 Mustang in which used to have a system. The dealers took it off and put in a cheap 94 ford taurus stock stereo. The mustang has two speakers under the back window, but only one works; which I also need some tips to remove. The car door speakers work, but somehow they don't work either. I dont think they're plugged in. The dashboard has three place to put stuff, but only the stereo and the AC system are on. The bottom is just a blank hole. Do I need to buy a new stereo?
tips to remove rear speakers....this is time consuming....But first look in your trunk and see if anyone has had the insight to already remove them and possibly bolt them to the bottom off the rear deck steel first.
Otherwise you have to remove the bottom of the back seat, and the top of it also...2plastic clips on the bottom you push in to release the bottom of the seat.
the top of the rear seat.5-6 Bolts..3along the top and one in each corner...possibly on in the middle( cant remember ) then
take off the top of the seat belt bolted to the side panel..on both sides.. gently remove the trim around the side windows...look for the clips...and then gently remove both side panels.....and then your rear deck covering the speakers will lift out...
when reinstalling speakers into this location ...bolt them to the bottom of the steel rear deck...so if you have to re-excess them again...you wont be an hour taking the car apart.
The rear speakers are know as ( some will tell you 5x7 or 6x8 they are the same size actually ...just a different way of measurement.....unless the car had a MACH460 system in it even the front doors had 5x7-6x8 speakers
the blank area in the bottom...was for a CD player with the mach460 while the top hole was for the am/fm cassette
I own a 94 Mustang GT the interior is set up the same..
