In recent years, car insurance claims have actually been filed for more unorthodox reasons such as potatoes making a bid for freedom and getting lodged behind brake pedals, and cows deciding that a car looked like a tasty snack and having a lick, damaging the paintwork in the process.
And these are just the more believable motor insurance claims. Pity the driver who had a claim made against them because their car door opened by itself when they drove round a bend, launching a frozen kebab at a passing car and causing untold damage. Or the driver who suddenly found himself with a frozen squirrel as a passenger – the chilly rodent had fallen out of a tree and crashed through the unfortunate person's windscreen.
So when you're shopping around for that cheap car insurance policy, don't forget to ask if you're covered for Potatoes, Kebabs and Bovine Damage too…

How do you solve this??If the two cars are moving at 4ω and ω respectively what time will they pass eachother?
Two people are on a ride where the inside cars rotate at a constant angular velocity four times the constant angular velocity of the outer cars. If the two cars are in line at t=0, and moving at 4ω and ω respectively, at what time will they next pass each other?
The inner car, since it is moving faster will complete one complete revolution before the outer. So subtract 360 degrees (or two pi radians) from the distance it travels and equate that to the distance the outer car travels. You only need subtract 360 since the outer car will have moved through 90 degrees in the time it takes the inner car to turn through 360 degrees. And 180 degrees when the inner car turns through two complete revolutions. So the inner car will pass the outer between 1 and 2 revolutions.
A1 = angle 1st car turns through = w*t
A2 = angle 2nd car turns through = 4*w*t
Since w is usually measured in radians I will use radians.
A1 = A2 - 2*pi
w*t = 4*w*t - 2*pi
3*w*t = 2*pi
t = 2*pi/(3*w)
Check. Make w = pi/2 rads/min which gives t = 4/3 min
In 4/3 minutes, outer car travels (4/3)*(pi/2) = 2*pi/3
Inner car: (4/3)*[4*(pi/2)] = 8*pi/3 ... 8*pi/3 - 2*pi = 2*pi/3
So the answer is good.
