Accessories After The Fact: The Most Stylish GEAR A Man Can Own..

Often over looked, but nonetheless essential are men's accessories. Style isn't solely dependent on clothing alone - you can show up in your best fitting suit, but it's the minor details that round out and refine the look. In fact, the specific accessories we incorporate into our lives, tend to reveal more about our lifestyle and nature than the clothing we wear. One could go so far as to suggest they provide the accents that define our character, as accessories are a direct extension of our daily lives.

When someone notices the care you have taken in building your wardrobe, they will assume you have invested the same thought and consideration into selecting the personal items you carry around with you. Here's a guide to selecting your gear strategically to conduct the best impression possible.

The Wallet – It is generally accepted as proper form to keep a wallet with a slim profile for your necessary identification and credit cards, as opposed to a thick monstrosity, busting at the seams with old movie tickets, receipts, and the other mishmash that gets accumulated over time.

Opt for a bi-fold design, cut from the nicest leather you can afford. To further avoid that back pocket bloat, keep your cash in your front pocket organized within a silver or leather money clip.

The Watch – You can tell a great deal about a man by the watch he wears - in many cases, it is the only jewelry a man wears! The most important factor to remember when shopping for a watch is that it's all about the "movements". We're talking about the machinery inside the watch that makes it tick.

Ditch the quartz battery operated, mass marketed models that you can find in any drugstore and get yourself a real time piece. Remember to limit your list exclusively to watches that contain automatic movements. Do some research online to find out what some of the most highly regarded and precise movements are (they are identified by their number). Doing so will ensure that the watch you choose will be an investment that will not only hold its value, but in some cases may even appreciate in value!

The style you choose should be a reflection of who you are, so consider three things: the look of the watch, the type of piece that would best suit your lifestyle, and as mentioned above – the movement within.

Rolex and Omega contain some of the most intricate, polished, and respected automatic movements the Swiss have to offer. If you can't afford them, there are plenty of other watches that will have you looking sharp until you gradually work your way to the top tier. Find a reputable watch dealer online and buy something vintage. If you do your homework and know what you're buying, you will have a "real" watch that will hold its value and last forever. Providing you take care of it!

The Bag – With all the average man has to carry with him these days, a bag is a very practical alternative to stuffing his pockets. A nice, rich leather messenger style bag or attache offers the practically for carrying around your essentials: keys, smart phone, music player, documents, even a small laptop.

Just remember not to go so small that it looks like a purse, or too large or bulky that you're taking people out on the street. Look for something that is built to last, with some intelligent design to it (various compartments to organize what you need to carry). Avoid messenger bags with a single large compartment which will basically turn into a black hole that swallows everything you place into it and makes things impossible to find.

When shopping for a bag, consider the following scenario... if you saw this bag left unattended in an airport, would you call security or steal it? If larceny is your answer, buy the bag!

The Shades – The right pair of sunglasses will not only protect the eyes from harmful UV rays, but will complete an outfit. Everyone should own at least one pair. You can never go wrong with the aviator style originally developed by Ray Ban in the 1930's. It has remained the classic design for decades, popular in the 60's and 70's, culminating in the huge exposure provided by "Top Gun" in the 80's.

Still very popular among celebrities, the aviator is versatile and works well with everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a custom tailored suit. It also looks great on just about everyone as the design is flattering to the majority of facial structures.

While a more expensive pair is a worthwhile investment since they can be worn all year, if you're notorious for losing your sunglasses or even sitting on them, you shouldn't spend an arm and a leg. Opt for polarized lenses while driving to reduce annoying and sometimes dangerous glare. They are also an excellent choice for anyone with light sensitive eyes.

The Write Stuff – We all know the pen is mightier than the sword, but consider for a moment the powerful statement made by removing a fountain pen from your pocket to render your signature to the bottom of a contract or check. How compelling this would be as compared to producing a Bic Stic or any cheap plastic gel pen to accomplish the same task. In your endeavor to create your own unique style, a fountain pen is the key to standing out from the crowd.

Regardless of the fountain pen's image as a status object, many users were initially drawn by the aesthetics of writing with one. There is an added degree of comfort since the nib (tip of the pen) requires very little pressure on the paper to lay down the ink. A visit to a proper stationary shop will offer you a limitless variety of models and inks to choose from, providing even greater opportunity to personalize your approach.

Advice on good tablets?

I currently have a 4x6 Wacom Graphire 4. It's several years old and I was looking at getting a new one. I don't want a super expensive one (though I'd love an interactive screen tablet/tablet computer, I don't wanna spend that kind of money on a tablet, atm).

Here are some of the things I'm looking for in a tablet. Not required, but preferred:
-Medium sized drawing screen (6x8 or greater)
-Not battery powered
-Eraser nib as well as drawing nib
-Pressure sensitive (not picky on the number of pressure levels)
-Looking for roughly $200 or less

Not picky on brand. As I've only had experience with Wacom Graphires (my friends also have graphires of varying models), I don't really know what are some good brands to look at. Any help? :)

Have you looked at a Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium? That seems to fit your requirements.
