How do you make a model ship look like it is moving through water using Future and some epoxy or clay?

I seen it is Fine Scale Modeler Magazine. You use Future floor polish to make the water shine and epoxy or clay. I also know you paint the clay or epoxy or whatever it is. I want to know how to do this with the material. I'm also thinking about having the Battleship look as if it is firing a round out of the 16 inch gun. But forming the surface to look real is what I don't know how to do. Please help.

Yeppers... mentioned in several issues of Fine Scale Modeller and other books, and I've used it on several waterline models over the last dozen years.

I use CELLU-CLAY... spread it out around the outline of the model, building up any larger waves. After it dries, I paint it with Liquitex Latex paints.... and use Liquitex Matte Medium to build up ripples and such. Then when I'm satisfied, I coat with Gloss medium or Future Floor Polish.

To get the surface "real"... look at LOTS and LOTS of pictures, and PRACTICE on small boards !! I had to do three or four times to get it right the first time.

Good Luck !!
