Essential Stuff About Grassland As Spring Naturalized Bulbs
Generous clumps of daffodils can be planted in grass, but make sure that you allow a distance of 7.5 to 20cm between each one so that the bulbs have space to multiply around the original planting as well as by self seeding. Some species narcissi will spread extremely well if the condition are favorable. Daffodil, for instance, with its wide spread cup, which is native to western France, seems to prefer peaty, acidic or sandy soils.

Of all the miniature trumpet daffodil cultivars, it must rank as one of the best for naturalizing in grass. It looks so delicate, with its white petals and pale yellow cup. A clump of primroses or violets close by would be perfect.
A native north western Spain native enjoys damp river banks and valet bottoms rather than the higher mountain sloped, as do the many modern cultivars that have been developed from it. With its swept back petals and long, narrow cup, this is one of the easiest of the species to identify.
