His elves work day and night, suffering vast physical degradation (look at how tiny and malnutritioned they are), whilst he makes a tidy profit out of appearing in shopping centres. He's a moral imperialist, claiming personal authority in the ability to distinguish 'naughty' from 'nice'. And he alwys gives better presents to the rich kids.
