Can anyone tell me how to apply the seismic load in steel pipe rack design in steel frame.?
The seismic load (Fp) is a horizontal load, it can act in any direction horizontally.
Like the dead weight of the pipe is a vertical load, this is a horizontal load.
I am assuming you are not doing the pipe supports, just the structural steel.
In your office you probably have a copy of the ASCE manual.
Look at ASCE 7-05 Chapter 13, that will give you some more information.
