Site Lights - the Safe Answer to Winter Working
Construction sites can be dangerous places to work. Today, there are numerous health and safety guidelines to follow for all those involved in a project to try and minimise accidental injury or even death. As well as providing adequate training and guidance to those working, there are other ways to improve site safety and performance. In order to work effectively and safely there is a need for adequate lighting, it goes without saying that to perform a task efficiently and to a good standard, those doing it need to be able to see clearly!
In the winter months, the sun sets in the UK many hours earlier than in summertime. In the past this meant that work time was often limited to just a few hours a day making many jobs drag on for much longer than necessary. Of course, wet weather and inclement conditions mean that certain construction processes cannot continue throughout the winter season, but urgent repair work, maintenance and some kinds of building work can continue regardless of damp or cold conditions. In these circumstances work may need to be finished in good time, and working after daylight hours may be necessary. For these reasons, having good site lights is important.
No matter which sector you are working in, choosing appropriate site lights for your needs is a major consideration. Completing projects in time and to a high standard is important so it is worth spending some time selecting good quality tools and equipment that will both last and perform well. Choosing lighting systems does not have to be difficult nor time consuming - just assess your needs and begin comparing products. One of the major factors which will have a bearing on your choice will be the power supply of the lighting - is it feasible to run it from a nearby energy source or will it need a generator? The World Wide Web is a great place to start your search, whether you need to purchase or to hire lighting solutions.
Since the advent of the internet, online trade has had a huge impact on how individuals and companies do business. Ecommerce seems to continue to grow and all kinds of industries now operate online stores and place detailed information about their products and services on websites. When looking for site lights it will be worthwhile to visit several websites in order to compare product specifications and prices for purchase and rental. Technical data for site lights that you may need to refer to will be available from some of the websites you look at and some will provide a 'frequently asked questions' page. The best suppliers will be happy to answer any queries you may have, so if in doubt about any details or if in need of further information or clarification, email or contact them via telephone.
Site lights are important. They help keep those working on site safer after darkness falls and allow work to continue as it would in daylight. Attention to detail is essential in construction and maintenance, so keep your employees and customers happy with the best in site lighting.

Darwen Tower, Borough of Darwen - Why is it not flood lit?
Peel Tower on Holcombe Hill is flood lit, looks great at night.
Darwen Tower is a beter Tower, it's on a higher hill and can be seen from much futher away.
So why not get some floodlights on it?
Lottery grant?
Or get the queen to stump up some cash, as it is AKA Jubilee Tower.
The octagonal Jubilee Tower at grid reference SD678215 on Beacon Hill overlooking the town of Darwen was completed in 1898 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee and also to celebrate the victory of the local people for the right to access the moor. It was opened to the public on September 22, 1898.
85 feet (25.9 m) in height, walkers can climb to the top via the internal staircase to admire the views of North Yorkshire, Morecambe Bay, Blackpool Tower, Cumbria, the Isle of Man, North Wales, elsewhere in Lancashire, and surrounding moorland.
Cheers
