I am traveling to long island near manhasset, NY from Delaware via I-95 N. How to best cross hudson?
I am traveling on a Saturday of next week. Should I use Verrazano Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel or George Washington bridge.
Google Maps suggests the GW Bridge, and that probably is better than cutting through the city via the tunnels. The Verrazano is probably your next-best option.
Keep in mind I-95 is discontinuous in New Jersey. You'll want to take I-295 in Delaware to the Delaware Memorial Bridge and then take the New Jersey Turnpike north. The Turnpike will become I-95 again above Exit 6. Don't take I-95 into Pennsylvania or you will have to detour to I-295 South and I-195 to get back onto I-95.
You'll be traveling Thanksgiving weekend, so allow plenty of time for traffic. It'll take you a while to cross the bridge, and you'll probably also hit delays at the NJ Turnpike toll. E-ZPass, if you have it, will save you a ton of time.
