By filling out the required form properly, your email message will not raise any "red flags" when it arrives in the seller's inbox. Dealers will often ignore any request that may look or feel like spam, or worse a robot! Therefore filling out the correct information is your first step of getting the dealer's attention.

Don't discuss the pricing issue right away-Many shoppers are eager to get a discount on the vehicle they are trying to buy. This often sends out the wrong message to the dealer. Don't forget many automotive dealers today are still operating based on older sales trainings and techniques. Asking for a discount before committing to an appointment to view the vehicle will make your request seems like a typical "tire kicker".

Research research, and more research-When it comes to buying for a new car, pricing issue is relatively simple. Because all the new vehicles will have something called M.S.R.P or (Manufacture's Suggested Retail Price), when it comes to discount it is not difficult to figure out if you got a "good deal". However this is not true for the used car market. Remember no two used vehicles are exactly alike, there are factors such as km, body condition, accident history, even paint color that can offset the pricing on the vehicle. So one should take a very different approach when it comes to discussing discount online.

Let the dealer take you seriously-When you find your dream car, don't rush! Provide the dealer with accurate information and book an appointment. Prepare your documents and research to show them what pricing you have received so far. Make a formal offer in person, with proof and documentation to back up your claim. And you should be on your way to driving your new vehicle!
