On my plate right now I have a few cars I have limited my selection to.
This is what is important to me

- Price which must be under 35K
- Fuel Consumption
Cars I'm looking at are all 2008 which include:
Jetta 2.0
Altima Coupe / Sedan
CSX
Eclipse
We looked at the lancer and found it very poorly / cheaply designed / made

With any brand new car your rolling the dice. Its like a box of chocolate. Long lasting with few repairs is not on your list, and you never know what thoes new models are going to be like way down the road.
Now with the Jetta VW has been consistant in making cars that do great till around 100K and then the car founders and you got to do extensive work to get it back in shape.
With the Nissan you have a hot or miss situation there. Some Nissans in the past have been long lasting tried and tested proven cars some have been total disasters.
The Honda emm not bad but Honda has seemed to be going downhill for the last 10 years or so. They are also a hit or miss car company.
Now the Mitisubishi you have a better chance in getting a miss than a hit.
