Introduction to Shipping Scales
A weighing scale is used to measure the weight or mass of an object. Shipping scales are used to measure the weight of an item and prevent unnecessary expenses on shipping. I play guitar and i never had lessons. should i learn scales chords and all that?
I can play alot of songs but i dont know all the notes, should i learn?
The question is what do you want to with the guitar. If all you want to do is be able to play other songs as originally written - then you're already on your way. But can you take a song you know and play it in a different key without having to figure it all out? If you want to be able to transpose music then you'll need a complete understanding of scales. Scales will also train your ear in intervals and such and you will be able to pick up songs more easily.
Chords help because a lot of notes progress through some chord formation, and then you can reduce the amount of movement in your left hand. They are also essential for rhythm and arpeggios.
Bottom line is if you are a serious guitarist, you will want to learn the scales, intervals, chords, chord progressions, playing in time, etc. etc.
